IMU CET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification

For UG programmes like B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Sc Nautical Science, you must meet all of the following:

• SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in PCM (5% relaxation applies)

Age Limit for IMU CET 2026

The upper age limit is calculated on the date of commencement of the programme. Female candidates get a 2-year relaxation over male candidates in every category.

Medical Fitness Requirement

IMU CET qualification alone is not enough for admission. You must also obtain a DG Shipping-approved medical fitness certificate before you join any maritime programme. This certificate confirms that you are physically fit for a seafaring career.

The Maritime GK component is the most unique part of the IMU CET syllabus. If you come from a non-maritime background, you must specifically prepare this topic since it is not covered in any standard Class 12 textbook.

IMU CET 2026 Admit Card

IMU CET 2026 admit card was released on May 16, 2026 at imu.cbexams.com. This was 8 days before the exam date of May 24, 2026. Candidates downloaded it using their registration number and date of birth.

Before the admit card, IMU released a City Intimation Slip during the city selection window of May 4–10, 2026. This told candidates which test city they were assigned to, giving them time to make travel arrangements before the full admit card (with exact centre address) was released.

If you are planning to appear for IMU CET 2027, you have about 4 months before the application window opens (expected February 2027) and around 7 months before the exam (expected May 2027). This is the ideal time to build a strong foundation across all five subjects.

• Mathematics (50 marks — highest shared weightage): Start with NCERT Class 11 and 12 to build concepts, then move to R.D. Sharma for extra practice.
